What the CCG commissions

The CCG commissions Non-Emergency Patient Transport services for patients when they have a medical need that requires them to travel in supported transport. Patients have to meet eligibility criteria in order to receive NHS supported transport.

We also commission transport for families where a child has been placed outside of Devon for treatment in a specialist inpatient unit in specific circumstances.

Our eligibility criteria can be found here.

Our Non-Emergency Patient Transport policy, which explains what we commission and in which circumstances, can be found here.

Further information, advice and support can be obtained by contacting the Patient Experience Team on:

01803 652 578 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) or patientfeedback.sdtccg@nhs.net

Please note that the team cannot book transport and cannot change or overturn eligibility decisions.
