Teignmouth engagement: 30 April to 8 June 2018

Teignmouth Hospital outpatient services

Teignmouth Hospital currently provides a range of outpatient services. If the ideas under discussion were to proceed, we would assess each service with a view to where they would be appropriately based in the future.

The assessment would include the needs of the people using the clinics such as whether they were likely to have mobility issues. The assessment would also take account of the numbers of people using the clinics.

If the ideas under discussion are eventually implemented the Teignmouth Health and Wellbeing Centre, would provide local health, social care and voluntary services. It will offer community outpatients, lifestyles and prevention services, helping to connect people to wider services and activities to support their physical health, mental health, social care and wellbeing.

Our high volume/activity will continue to be provided in Teignmouth including Physiotherapy musculoskeletal (MSK) services and podiatry.

The current range of outpatient services in Teignmouth includes: Anaesthetics, Audiology (adult and children), Breast Care, Cardiac Liaison, Colorectal, Ear Nose Throat, Gynaecology, Neurology, Oral Surgery, Orthopaedics, Orthoptist, Paediatrics, Pain Management, Physiotherapy, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Rheumatology, Upper Gastrointestinal, Urology, Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), Catheter Care, Chronic Fatigue and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) clinics, Clinical Psychology and pain, Continence, Flow, Dermatology, Midwifery Services, Paediatric Bladder and Bowel, Retinal Screening, Stroke and Neuro Occupational Therapy Clinics, as well as ad hoc clinics as requested.
