Make a difference in your community

What is the community grants fund?
It is an initiative funding small community-led schemes to improve people’s health and wellbeing, eg helping people get more active, look after themselves better, or become more connected.

Applications may be from £25 - £300.

Who can apply?
Any person, group or project based in South Devon and Torbay.

What sort of schemes will be funded?
Schemes need to:

  • Promote physical activity
  • Encourage people to look after themselves better (‘self-care’) and live more positive and fulfilled lives
  • Promote emotional health and wellbeing
  • Support recovery from drug or alcohol misuse
  • Reduce loneliness within local communities
  • Support life-long learning and strengthen and develop existing community networks

Schemes should benefit a group of people rather than just one individual.

Schemes should not promote any particular political or religious organisational gain.

We especially welcome applications from individuals or new groups who have a good idea to benefit their community.

How do I apply?

What happens next?
Your proposal will be reviewed by a grants panel. Panels meet every two months and you will be contacted after the next panel meeting to let you know whether your scheme will receive funding. Applications for amounts under £100 may be reviewed by an online panel.

Someone may contact you for further details about your scheme in the meantime. If you would like to present your scheme to the panel, please let us know.

If you are successful in getting funding for your scheme, we will ask you for some feedback on how it is going, with in six months of receiving the funds.
