Torbay Hospital receives award

South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been named as one of the 40 best-performing trusts in England at the CHKS Top Hospitals Awards for 2015.

The award is based on the evaluation of more than 20 of the hospital’s key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

Paul Cooper, deputy chief executive of South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Torbay Hospital, said: “We are delighted to be named one of the top-performing trusts.

"Targets and performance is just one of a number of ways in which we can measure our patient experience, but is nevertheless an important one.

"The performance measured here shows that we are working in a safe, efficient and effective way."
