We want your views on health services

Residents are being urged to submit questions about the health issues that matter to them ahead of an NHS information event in October.

The event has been jointly organised by South Devon and Torbay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Chillington Health Centre and its Patient Participation Group, and it will be held at Stokenham Parish Hall.

It will consist of a general discussion at tables and then a panel of experts will invite questions from the audience for the last half-hour.

Organisers have stressed that while questions do not have to be submitted before the event in order to be answered, pre-submission of questions will mean that they can be answered as fully as possible.

Dr Sue Crawford, a GP at Chillington Health Centre, said: “I would urge people to put this date in their diary. Whether you are young or old, fit or frail, please do your best to come along. The CCG and the practice want to engage with you.

“The purpose of the event is to allow health centre patients and other local residents to meet people who are responsible for commissioning health services, to hear how the local plans are progressing and to ask questions.

“We want to know what people think of their medical and related services and of the local commissioning plans for the future.”

To ensure that questions can be fully answered at the event – which is on 7 October, 1.30pm-4pm – they can be emailed to laura.voisey@nhs.net or phoned in at 01803 652479.

There will also be information stands available from providers of health and care, including local community organisations, so that visitors can find out more about what resources are available to them.
