Tell friends and family about the Health Fair and AGM
A major NHS fair in Newton Abbot will enable people to find out about the latest health developments in South Devon and Torbay.

The CCG is bringing together a wide range of local organisations at the Avenue Church to show how groundbreaking developments link with traditional methods of healthcare to help people’s wellbeing now and into the future.

Anyone wanting to attend is asked to email their confirmation to or call 01803 652500.

Among the organisations taking part on 22 June will be Public Health, two GP practices demonstrating online consultations, Newton Abbot-based charity KingsCare, Healthwatch, and online health broadcaster Hiblio.

Pharmacists and GPs will be there to give health checks, as well as information or advice on issues such as weight, body mass index, blood pressure and cholesterol checks.

Also attending the health fair will be Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust, which runs Torbay Hospital.

The health fair begins at 10am, followed at 11.30am by the CCG governing body’s annual general meeting (AGM), which will enable people to find out about the organisation’s performance during the past year and its plans for the future.

Dr Nick Roberts, the CCG’s chief clinical officer, said: “Many people have told us that they want to hear more about the innovative work being undertaken here in South Devon and Torbay, and the Health Fair and AGM will give visitors a chance to do that.

“At the health fair element of the morning, people will be able to get first-hand insights into the many innovative initiatives going on locally, and they will be able to ask questions.

“So I’d urge anyone with an interest in health and care to join us for the first health fair of its kind we’ve organised.”
