Acute services review

The Acute services review was announced on 4 November 2016, when the final draft of the five-year Wider-Devon Sustainability and Transformation Plan was published. The detailed case for change is set out in the document Services not Structures.

As part of keeping local communities up to date with progress, stakeholder updates are being produced:

  1. February 2017
  1. March 2017

We anticipate that by the summer, we will have had sufficient feedback from clinicians, the public and other professionals to draw up proposals about how we make sure Devon’s acute hospital stroke, maternity and urgent care services are fit for the future and provide the best possible care for our patients.

Before we get to that stage, we would like to discuss the criteria that could be used to judge any proposals at a series of pre-consultation meetings being held in March.

Details of the 12 events taking place across Devon and Torbay are available in the table.

To register at one of the discussion events and guarantee your place, please call 01392 267 642 or email

If you are unable to attend any of the meetings, you can still get involved by completing the online questionnaire, here.

Further information on the Acute Services Review will be published here in the coming months.
